Video can be really fun because, at the end of the day, you can always upload your frankenstein to YouTube and say "Look! I made this!". The result will be a giant shrug from the world and everyone just goes back to what they're doing.
But make silly videos we shall! For this I recommend...
The first time I used DaVinci Resolve was at a disastrous work gig in America. It's a bit of a confusing monster to get around but once you work out what all the bits are for it's extraordinarily powerful. I've managed to use it to put together some interesting slideshows for soundscapes, and also some bizarre footage that I used to denote a scene in a book I'm writing.
And then you just go off and make silly stuff...
For when you're feeling lazy you can just go ahead and stick two PNGs together over a soundtrack. We use Christmas tracks because one particular member of Johnson Manor is a total scrooge. This is a nice bit of annoyance for them.
Technically this is a scene from a book represented in media. It's meant to be the point of view of some poor destroyed robot sitting and waiting for his sister before his battery fails. Nice bit of story telling fun that's actually represented word-for-word in the book.
Sometimes you don't need a book - you need the feeling of a scene, and you need some visual cues as to what's going on. This is what it feels like to wake up on a ship that crashed eons ago after you've been in a coma for decades. Assembling a slideshow in DaVinci is incredibly easy to do. The soundtrack is basically just a cobble-together of sounds in Cubase that took me all of half an hour. The artwork comes from ChatGPT which is thoroughly embedded in my book workflow for art purposes.
Videos. Post some on YouTube today.
